Alira Health and Legit.Health Partner to Empower Patients in Dermatology Clinical Research

Alira Health digital health solutions combined with Legit.Health’s AI-driven image assessment tool offer a unique platform for dermatology DCT, RWE and DTx

Alira Health, a global health care consulting, research, and technology company, and Legit.Health, a leading next generation clinical data tool focused on dermatology, announced a partnership that offers patients the opportunity to be involved in the research and development of dermatology solutions. This approach reduces complexity for pharma, biotech and medtech companies while meeting the expectations of regulators, providers, and payers.

In partnership with Legit.Health, we are pleased to offer next generation dermatology solutions that increase recruitment rates, show better compliance, lower drop-out rates, and reduce complexity in clinical operations.”

The Alira Health and Legit.Health partnership extends Alira Health’s scalable digital health ecosystem with Legit.Health’s clinically validated AI-based dermatology image assessment neural networks to automate Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) through a simple smartphone camera image. This combination is designed to automate the verification of inclusion criteria, automate participant monitoring and clinical endpoint acquisition and recruitment, and increase the diversity of participants. Companies can leverage this for dermatology Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCT), Real-World Evidence (RWE), and Digital Therapeutics (DTx).

Legit.Health’s technology allows Alira Health to automatically fill in most scoring system for dermatological conditions, with improved reliability, lower variability, and a fraction of the time an effort. Scoring systems such as EASI, SCORAD, PASI, IHS4 constitute the backbone of dermatology clinical trials, but they are also their biggest weakness and are tedious for researchers. This partnership will enable sponsors to speed up clinical trials and increase reliability of clinical endpoints thanks to automatically filling in scoring system through clinical images.

“Today, dermatology study sponsors face increasing complexity in clinical trial design and execution,” said Benjamin Chambon, Chief Commercial Officer of Alira Health. “Trial recruitment remains challenging, trial operations are more dispersed, protocol adherence issues are more prevalent, and protocol processes for standardizing data collection now include specifications for photography and high-resolution video communication. In partnership with Legit.Health, we are pleased to offer next generation dermatology solutions that increase recruitment rates, show better compliance, lower drop-out rates, and reduce complexity in clinical operations.”

“Pharma cannot make drugs of the future using tools of the past”, said Taig Mac Carthy, Founder and CEO of Legit.Health. “Legit.Health‘s artificial intelligence allows you to screen for 302 different pathologies, providing the most probable diagnosis, measuring the severity of the disease and even checking for the quality of the image. Our advanced dermatology technology combined with Alira Health’s cutting-edge approach to digital health solutions is a game-changer for the industry.”
