Annabel brings an extensive background and noteworthy experience in the patient-engagement sector. She is based out of the firm’s Barcelona, Spain office.

Annabel leads Alira Health’s new Patient Engagement practice, where she helps clients introduce patient-centric activities into their organizations in a meaningful way. The practice is dedicated to helping organizations harness the power of patient insights and using them to make better decisions, impact outcomes, and enhance the patient experience. The practice’s services include the development of patient-care matrices and patient-centricity strategies, a patient knowledge center, advisory boards, and mobilization programs to facilitate true and fruitful interactions that serve stakeholders across the ecosystem and benefit all patients.

Annabel began her career as a part of the Communications Team at Pharmacia & Upjohn. She was then appointed Patient Brand Manager for Viagra at Pfizer and subsequently for Levitra at Bayer. Annabel has also held key roles at Novartis Spain, Almirall (Head of Corporate Communications), and Nestlé Purina (Head of Media Relations, Europe). She served as a freelance consultant in patient strategy, including dedicated experience with Lucentis, Pradaxa worldwide, and the management of Champix’s European strategy.
In addition to her role at Alira Health, Annabel teaches patient advocacy at the Barcelona Biotechnology Institute and is an active collaborator of the patient experience think tank at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona.
