Meet Our Speakers
Sofia Puzzi
Principal, Transaction Advisory Services and Co-Chair, CDMO Medtech Center of Excellence
Sofia has extensive experience in M&A and strategy in life sciences, advising C-level decision makers on global inorganic growth opportunities and value maximization within medtech and pharmaceutical services, and life sciences innovation. Sofia is an expert at structuring global private equity and venture capital transactions and brings years of deep vertical expertise in the areas of medical manufacturing, invitro diagnostics, radiology, and others.
Sofia holds a Master of Science in management from ESSEC Business School in France, with a major in strategic consulting and therapeutic innovation, as well as a Bachelor of Science in business economics from Bocconi University in Italy.
Sofia is an investment banking representative, holding a FINRA Series 79 license.
Gabriele Brambilla
CEO and Co-Chair, Drug Delivery Systems Center of Excellence
Gabriele Brambilla, MBA, is the CEO and co-founder of Alira Health. Gabriele has proudly grown the company from a small, boutique consulting firm of less than 30 people, into a global player with a workforce of over 800 highly diverse and talented employees.
Gabriele is also a leading advocate for the local and global growth of life sciences regionally. In 2018, he co-founded the MetroWest Life Sciences Network, a nonprofit regional collaboration of healthcare and life science-based organizations, municipalities, and economic and business development organizations in Boston’s MetroWest, where Alira Health is headquartered. As the network’s current chairman, Gabriele fosters collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship in this critical life sciences ecosystem. In conjunction with this, he sits on the Board of Directors of MassMedic, EnlightenVue, WoundForce, Firefly Innovations, X-Cor Therapeutics, Computational Life and Oncoheroes.
Gabriele holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Pavia, a master’s degree in International Affairs from the I.S.P.I., and an MBA from Post Graduate SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy.
Filippo Pendin
Partner, Transaction Advisory Services
Filippo Pendin joined Alira Health after previous experiences in private equity and corporate finance. Filippo gained his knowledge of strategy, finance, and consulting while working for a private equity fund in Lisbon, Portugal covering buy-side mandates as a fund analyst, analyzing companies’ operations and related key metrics of comparison. In Alira Health, he focuses on M&A and strategic assignments and further honing his analytical capabilities through their application to the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
Filippo has studied, worked, and lived in Italy, the UK, Canada, Portugal, and Spain. Filippo graduated from Catolica Lisbon School of Business and Economics in Lisbon, Portugal.
Giorgia Miglietta
Engagement Manager and Co-Chair, Drug Delivery Systems Center of Excellence
Giorgia Miglietta has extensive experience in strategy consulting in life sciences, advising medtech and pharma clients on corporate strategy, commercial due diligence, and product and portfolio innovation.
Giorgia is the Co-Chair of Alira Health’s Center of Excellence in Drug Delivery Systems and has led and supported more than 50 strategic engagements, guiding C-level decision makers on global growth opportunities, with a particular focus on drug delivery systems and enabling digital technologies. Giorgia holds a Master of Science in Management from Copenhagen Business School, with a major in innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as a Bachelor of Science in business economics from the University of Torino and ISCTE, University Institute of Lisbon.
