Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Agencies play an important role in the process of market access for new medicines. Structures, methodologies, and processes differ from one country to the other, but a common factor is present in all of them: awareness of the importance of including the patient’s voice is essential.

To characterize the level of current patient involvement in HTA in the European, US, and Canadian HTA agencies, Alira Health conducted a systematic literature review of articles published in English between 2016 and 2021 on HTA and patient engagement.
