RESEARCH ASSOCIATE I
We are looking for a Research Associate I for the Alira Health Product Development Lab (ProDevLab) to help develop new devices and drug formulations for advanced wound care and dermatology to provide clinically relevant solutions. Primary responsibilities will include standard molecular biology techniques, microscopy, immunohistochemistry, some biochemistry, data entry, and laboratory notebook maintenance. The ProDevLab manages highly translational projects (internal and external) that will involve contributing to the design of experiments from research and development to early and late-stage preclinical testing in animal models. The individual must comply with established standards, regulations, and laboratory procedures.
REQUIRED: An undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences; research background in good lab practices with at least 2 years of specialized lab experience, which may include experience gained as an undergraduate; demonstrated proficiency in pipetting; good sterile technique; strong time management and communication skills; demonstrated problem-solving skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; awareness of basic safety issues; and ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Must be able to learn quickly; multitask and organize multiple experiments simultaneously; plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Relevant experience with two or more of the following preferred: phase and fluorescence microscopy, immunohistochemistry, tissue sectioning; pre-clinical animal models (mouse, rat, porcine); tissue cell culture; PCR and qPCR; and analytical techniques including gel electrophoresis and flow cytometry.
