Richard Charter
Richard Charter is Alira Health’s MedTech Market Access and Commercial Strategy Partner. He joined Alira Health in 2020 as the Vice President of MedTech Market Access for Europe and Asia Pacific.
Richard has over 20 years of experience in financial and health economics. Prior to joining Alira Health, he was the head of market access and pricing at a major MedTech company, leading pricing, market access and value-based healthcare (VBHC) projects around Europe in multiple care delivery settings and therapeutic areas.
In addition to his work at Alira Health, Richard is currently the co-chair of the HTAi Medical Device Interest Group, and the ABHI Sustainability Working Group. His past chair roles include MedTech Europe Evidence & Payers Working Group and the ISPOR Medical Device Special Interest Group. Richard was also the industry advisor for the EU-funded Horizon 2020 COMED initiative on cost and outcomes measurement for medical devices.
Richard holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Management, Economics, and Policy from SDA Bocconi. He has also completed the Harvard Business School Intensive Course on Value-Based Healthcare.
